Jane Addams Hull House Museum says…

Women register and vote at a higher rate than men. There are record numbers of them in Congress. Heck, for the first time ever, a female politician has (or, at least, had) a real shot at winning the presidency. Indeed, women are involved in politics today to such an extent that it's sometimes hard to remember that they only gained the right to vote in 1920. Tonight's event revisits the 70-year fight for women's suffrage — from the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention to the Silent Sentinels protests. Documentary One Woman, One Vote is screened, followed by a panel discussion on the suffragists' strategies, women's voting patterns, and female political power in the 2008 elections.
