Film Sonic Celluloid

Jointly curated by Block Cinema and WNUR 89.3 FM, Sonic Celluloid is a reliably awesome marriage of weird bands and obscure, experimental, animated, and silent films. The annual affair invites selected musicians to pen (or improvise) an original score for the short film of their choice. It's a psychedelic, discombobulating experience, as musicians juxtapose free-jazz noodles with medical films or avant-garde spazz-rock with vintage cartoons. Tonight's guests — including atmospheric noiseniks Blues Control and gnarly thrash/no-wave trio Hair Police — promise to up the trippy factor to the max.
