They might have called this bill the Time Machine Tour: Opening act Gabby Glaser mines a rich vein of 1970s soul and early-'80s hip-hop to find her groove (her previous band's name, a play on that of '70s Philadelphia 76er Lucious Jackson, is telling). Headliners The Long Blondes, meanwhile, draw on an amalgam of 1960s Stax and Motown, Burt Bacharach, and new-wave influences to inspire their "glamorous punk." It's a musical trip down memory lane, and between Glaser's Lower East Side cool and Long Blonde Kate Jackson's runway hauteur, you get two leading ladies as your able guides.
