In just seven years, Chicago's Flameshovel Records has built an impressively eclectic roster. From local upstarts the Narrator (RIP) to scene stalwarts Make Believe and even out-of-towners like Oxford Collapse, the label features everything from instrumental metal and experimental noise to introspective indie rock. Tonight, Flameshovel hosts a free showcase of some of its finest bands. Arrive early for the weirdo garage rock of openers White Savage — back together and performing new material from three forthcoming singles. Garage-punkers Mannequin Men show off their new bassist, Miles Raymer (of Sharp Darts fame), and Tim Kinsella's Make Believe sling yelpy, insistent post-rock. Indie-poppers Maritime headline.
