The sweet scent of summer is in the air, and that means neighborhood-festival season has arrived. This weekend's Do-Division Street Fest has the typical street-party fare: food vendors, cold beer, kiddie activities, a sidewalk sale from local merchants, and some killer live music. Curated by the Empty Bottle, the ten-block-long celebration welcomes Lucero, Mucca Pazza, and the Occidental Brothers Dance Band International on Saturday; and then Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, the 1900s, and Bear Hands on Sunday. The Fest is a truly local event, with participants chosen based on their popularity in the surrounding 'hood.
