Music: Rock/Pop Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band w/ Josh Abrams and the Dead Science

Composed primarily of members from Godspeed You! Black Emperor (a band that, sadly, remains on indefinite hiatus), Thee Silver Mt. Zion have developed a cult-like following thanks to their epic dirges, ornate album packaging, and stirring live performances. The Montreal-based outfit's cryptic compositions are gospels of the apocalypse, often indicting humanity for its misdeeds. Waves of frenzied guitar crash over choral incantations while lush string arrangements contrast co-founder Efrim Menuck's distinctive wail. Openers the Dead Science perform strange, textural experiments, but wrapped in poppier trappings.
