Artist/activist Frau Fiber's investigation of the history and global politics of the garment industry is the latest installment in Gallery 400's At the Edge: Innovative Art in Chicago series. Fiber's performances, which take place in two of Chicago's formerly thriving garment-district neighborhoods, center around the manufacture and deconstruction of two pieces of classic business apparel: the white shirt and the suit. The three-week-long series of events ends with a "Manufacturers Sample Sale," where the fruits of the artist's labor are available to the public and priced according to a "geographic sliding scale."
