The fast-and-frantic style of Canadian quartet Tokyo Police Club is so speedy that songs seem to be ending just as they begin. The band's past EPs have been short enough to constantly leave people wanting more, and now, after spending a few years as festival favorites, TPC have finally released a full-length album, Elephant Shell — chock full of brainy, post-punky anthems and lead singer Dave Monks' occasional robot references. Openers Smoosh are an exceptionally young sister duo (Asya's 16, Chloe's 14), whose quirky piano pop has already earned them opening slots for Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, and their idols, Sleater-Kinney.
