Music: Rock/Pop The Swell Season

It was a pretty sweet moment when Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova won the Oscar for their song "Falling Slowly" from the sleeper indie-romance Once. Considering that they were up against three songs by Hollywood heavyweights Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, Hansard and Irglova's statuette-grab was an unexpected windfall — although fans of Hansard's longtime Irish band the Frames were already familiar with the singer/songwriter's winsome charms. Hansard and Irglova continue their post-Oscar victory lap as the impossibly charming, busker-esque Swell Season.
