The Empty Bottle says…

As the experimental electronic-music scene blossomed over the last 15 years, modern knob-twiddlers have traced their genealogy and found Silver Apples perched near the top of the family tree. The duo (Simeon manipulating oscillators, Danny Taylor drumming) came out of nowhere in the late '60s with two albums of cracked signals, otherworldly sound waves, and machine-made wheezing. It then fell straight back into obscurity. As interest in the band was renewed in the late '90s, however, some of the mystery faded — new records, festival sightings, and multi-city tours followed. Taylor has since passed away, but Silver Apples are no less amazing in their current incarnation, so don't miss this chance to see one of the genre's true pioneers.
