Regarding those who toil on Madison Avenue, the acid-tongued Bill Hicks once riffed, "You are Satan's little helpers… kill yourself, seriously… it's the only way to save your soul." A new program at Mess Hall offers a less violent form of redemption for those who work in the marketing and advertising industries. At tonight's open house, the Anti-Advertising Agency Foundation for Freedom kicks off a five-week program that provides support and networking opportunities for discontented creatives interested in transitioning to careers in the arts, journalism, and nonprofit sectors. Weekly drop-in clinics are held on Friday afternoons from 1-4pm beginning June 20.
