Maybe they have a secret portrait of themselves that ages, or perhaps they perfected the art of time travel, but whatever the method, Matt Valentine and Erika Elder seem to have stepped straight out of the '70s. The two perform with a rotating cast of musicians under the moniker MV & EE with the Golden Road, and the group's heavily reverbed sound (dubbed "lunar blues") is all folksy banjo strums, delicate dulcimer plucks, and laid-back vocals — with a few distorted guitar solos thrown in for good measure. Tonight, the psych-folk outfit performs jams off of Gettin' Gone, its second album on the Ecstatic Peace label.
