Music: Rock/Pop Islands

Montreal's Islands had already collaborated with Beck, Wolf Parade, and Arcade Fire when they released their debut LP, Return to the Sea, back in 2006. Touring the states in support of its new album Arm's Way (released by Anti- last month), the ex-Unicorns outfit brings sprawling, quirky pop songs to Logan Square Auditorium. New material like "The Arm" — a jaunty, Technicolor indie-pop number full of Bowie-esque snippets and jangling strings — illustrates how much Islands' sound has evolved over the years.
