Music: Rock/Pop The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players w/ Bad Flirt and the Alarmists

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players wear many genre hats, from indie and vaudeville to conceptual art rock. The NYC-by-way-of-Seattle trio, which features mom (Tina Piña), dad (Jason), and teenage daughter (Rachel), has earned heaps of adoring praise since 2003, when it became the first unsigned act to play on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. (Back then, little Rachel could just barely reach her drum kit.) The band has since played at Bonnaroo and toured with everyone from They Might Be Giants to Kate Nash. Tonight, the Trachtenburgs headline the Abbey Pub, bring along indie poppers Bad Flirt and silky smooth Britpop enthusiasts the Alarmists.
