Art Videodance: Works from the Centre Pompidou

Since 1978, the Centre Pompidou in Paris has paired visual artists with choreographers and dancers at its annual Vidéodanse festival. The results of these collaborations add up to a formidable collection of work spanning three decades. Now, for the first time in the US, over 30 works from the festival are publicly screened at full duration at the Hyde Park Art Center. The selections are made by the Pompidou's Vidéodanse curator Michéle Bargue, and include pieces by art-world heavy hitters like Mona Hatoum, John Baldessari, Mike Kelley, Isaac Julien, and Erwin Wurm. The works are arranged chronologically and shown in four week-long installments in the center's black-box theater.
