A tangle of upright bassists, sit-down banjoists, and hometown honky-tonkers, the Hideout's annual A Day in the Country festival gathers 11 acts for an afternoon of stone-cold country music. Highlights include the Blue Line Riders channeling Patsy Cline, Fulton County Line swaggering through swinging Western tunes, the Hoyle Brothers adorning tragic story-songs with pedal steel guitar, and Tangleweed plucking their way to a state of bluegrass bliss. And, as with any good festival, don't forget the eats: the only thing that tops breezy listening under the Sunday-afternoon sun is supplementing it with smoky BBQ and a big piece of homemade pie.
