Performing Arts Mortified Chicago

The immensely popular, ever-expanding performance phenomenon known as Mortified — in which ordinary people excavate their most embarrassing adolescent artifacts on stage — returns to the Green Mill for another cringe-inducing, thoroughly hilarious evening. Poetry, love letters, diary entries, home movies, and overwrought song lyrics: it's all fair game. Tonight's show includes two musical acts born out of youthful romantic fervor. Highlights include one performer's re-imagining of "Stairway to Heaven" as a tune about her hometown of Winnepeg, and an Ani DiFranco-obsessed teenager's lovelorn song about falling for straight girls.
