Film Dillinger Is Dead (1969)

Despite his key role in the early development of Italian art cinema, filmmaker Marco Ferreri isn't nearly as well known as contemporaries like Michelangelo Antonioni and Federico Fellini. Dillinger Is Dead, a nightmarish portrayal of a bourgeois everyman slipping into violent behavior, is generally considered the under-appreciated director's masterpiece; it neatly summarizes Ferreri's preoccupation with the dark contradictions of modern life.
