More Flavor Pecha Kucha Night

Named for a Japanese phrase that describes the sound of conversation, Pecha Kucha Night (pronounced "puh-check-ka-chuh" in a staccato burst) is a global phenomenon with installments in 125 cities. Pecha Kucha asks artists, designers, writers, and other creative types to present their work and ideas in a slide lecture, but with a twist: each lecture lasts only about seven minutes. Among tonight's speed-talkers are AIA Chicago's Zurich Esposito, Redmoon Theatre's Jim Lasko, Norwegian mountaineer Arild Øvrum, painter Steve Skinner, the Spertus Museum's Arielle Weininger, sculptor Michael Wilkinson, and James Venturi, son of architectural heavyweights Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown — themselves the subjects of James' documentary Learning from Bob and Denise, which previews tonight.
