Art Sunday Painters: Discarded Paintings by Gifted Amateurs

Whereas most found-art exhibitions make aesthetic objects out of forgotten knick-knacks, the focus of this exhibition is, more literally, fine art that's found. Discarded Paintings by Gifted Amateurs gives orphaned artworks, produced by unknown artists, a home and an audience. The viewer must interpret the artwork, seen out of context, and can only guess at its origin and intent. This show is part of Intuit's yearly showcase of gifts to its permanent collection. Imagine the 25 unidentified artists' surprise, were they to learn that their work has finally found the life they'd always intended for it.
