Being a Chef: Bastille Day in Provence

Salute French Independence Day at the Alliance Française's Bastille Day cooking class. Gastronomes and Francophiles alike are invited to learn the delicious ins-and-outs of Provençal cuisine: scrumptious tapénade tartine (an open-faced sandwich with a spread of capers, black olives and anchovies), grilled sea scallops, mixed greens with banon (a goat cheese wrapped in dried chestnut leaves), and olive-oil cake with fruit garnish. If you ever wake from your food coma, head over to Navy Pier for more Fête Nationale festivities, including fireworks and a performance by bombastic French theater troupe Transe Express.
