Chicago record label Rabbit Factory Inc. specializes in reviving classic Southern soul music and showcases its finest acts tonight. These aren't just bands trying to recreate the music of the '60s. Many of them actually existed during that time period, only to begin touring again in recent years. Oxford, Mississippi, residents Wiley and the Checkmates originally formed in 1960 and broke up 12 years later, but they reformed in 2002 and have been playing ever since. Eight-piece dance band the Checkmates back up other soul and blues acts like Ralph Jackson and Bobby Patterson.
