Singer/songwriter Ed Harcourt has released multiple albums and toured with big-name artists (R.E.M., Wilco, Snow Patrol), and yet he still isn't a household name. At least his multiple albums of upbeat, earnest pop songs have earned him an ardent following in his native UK. Harcourt crafts tidy, romantic ballads at the piano, but can readily ratchet up the rhythm for more swingin' fare, as in the jangly, Beach Boys-inspired "Born in the '70s" from 2004's Strangers. He headlines Schubas in support of his latest, The Beautiful Lie, alongside singer/songwriter Jeff Klein.
