Curated by photographer Dawoud Bey, Are We There Yet? is a group show of lens-based work that touches on issues of mobility. It's a timely topic, as rising oil prices call into question Americans' ability to move about freely, whether they're jetting around the world or simply commuting to work. Several artists use their cameras in documentary mode, as in Rula Halawani's photographs of Israeli checkpoints that underscore how unrestricted movement isn't the norm for everyone. Others hit the theme in more oblique ways; Curtis Mann's pictures — appropriated snapshots altered through a bleaching process — depict isolated figures in the middle of vanishing, half-blank landscapes.
