Not a documentary about the world's new richest man — no, it's that wonderfully dated sci-fi techno-adventure from 1982. Proving that the phrase "Disney cult classic" isn't necessarily an oxymoron, Tron was a CGI breakthrough in its time — although, by modern movie standards (hell, even modern video-game standards), the FX stink: flat dimensions, pitch-black contrasts, and garish neon. But that gaudiness has brought the film serious camp longevity. Kanye West copped its style for his recent leap into retro-futurist razzmatazz (see: "Stronger" video), and the Simpsons have paid homage. Judgment on the remake will be withheld until it really happens — really, an update on Tron's gloriously obsolete imagery would miss the point.
