Art Zachary Cahill: The Best Laid Plans

Explicitly political art has fallen out of favor in recent decades, although there have been signs of a comeback as the state of the union grows increasingly dismal. In three performance-based videos and a suite of sculptures, Zachary Cahill engages the aesthetics of revolution and considers the uncertain future of radical art. Presented as part of a self-styled "meta-project" (which co-opts the name of a neoconservative think tank), the work makes a not-so-evident proposal: that this political-artistic enterprise might lead to its own demise, vanishing amid a larger, oncoming wave of change.
