If Simon Lord's voice sounds familiar, it's because the soulful Brit, before leading the Black Ghosts, held down vocal duties in the earliest incarnation of Simian — back when the band played radiant pop-psychedelia, before its current, dance-oriented (and mobile) direction. The Black Ghosts play what they've deemed "perverse, personal pop music," blending crisp production with finely tuned dance-floor sensibilities. Tonight, they take to the stage with Bio-Booster and local house DJ Pete Augusta.
