Even if you don't know him by name, chances are you've heard Jeb Bishop, whose musical contributions span the stylistic spectrum. He's recorded brass on Stereolab tracks and played bass and guitar with Weasel Walter during the Flying Luttenbachers' early days. But it's as a trombonist that Bishop really shines. You can get a taste of his horn chops on records by local post-rock (Jim O'Rourke, the Sea and Cake) and free-jazz (Ken Vandermark, Peter Brontzmann) favorites. Tonight, the sideman is ready for his close-up.
