Reading Funny Ha-Ha

Ladies' night with Funny Ha-Ha combines laughs and literature with a bit of multimedia, in one of Chicago's few reading series devoted to humor. Tonight's lineup centers around Evanston-born, Brooklyn-based author Amy Shearn, in town promoting her new comic novel How Far Is the Ocean from Here — about a surrogate mother who gets cold feet a few days before she gives birth. Also on the bill are Chicagoist editor Margaret Lyons, who takes the stage for the first time, and regulars Wendy McClure and Mimi Smartypants. The only male spotlighted is Steve Delahoyde, who gets a pass on account of his promise to show only female-centered short films.
