Just as the original post-punk movement shifted from the jagged polemics of Gang of Four and the Pop Group to the sophisticated (but no less radical) sounds of ABC and Scritti Politti, so goes the genre's revival. Brooklyn's Tigercity have gobbled up nearly every form of slick-yet-soulful music from the '70s and '80s and made them their own. Check out "Other Girls," which mixes "I Wanna Be Your Lover"-era Prince falsetto with chicken-scratch guitar and Martin Fry-style vocal phrasing. Under it all is a disco pulse that constantly reminds you of the persistence of decadence.
