Film: Documentary Forever (2006)

Paris' Père-Lachaise — one of the most-visited cemeteries in the world — is the final resting place for a stunning number of artists, including Chopin, Proust, Seurat, Modigliani, Balzac, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, and even Jim Morrison (whose frequently vandalized grave now requires full-time security guards). The thousands of visitors who flock to the breathtaking necropolis each year are showcased in Forever, a moving, but light-hearted, panegyric to the people who continue to move us from beyond the grave. The film's simple interviews and gorgeous scenery are a testament to the power of understated documentary filmmaking.
