Looking curiously like an old-fashioned ice-cream cart, a bicycle built for books hits Wicker Park this afternoon, with writer and editor G.M. Levinson passing out free manuscripts to anyone wishing to engage in conversation about Chicago-centric literature (or at least looking to avoid library late fees). The book bike hits the road courtesy of some generous publishers and a custom-made set of wheels of Levinson's design. He tours the city's parks on Saturdays throughout the summer, as long as the publishers continue to provide the material — and the bike continues to support its literary load.
