For those whose impressions of prisoners have mostly been shaped by watching Oz, this exhibition provides a look at prisoners' creative talent and dedication. Light from Inside features original paintings and drawings by residents of Illinois prisons, giving a human face to the men and women behind bars. A variety of styles and skill levels are represented, with many pieces that are intensely personal, including portraits of inmates' mothers and children.
