Zach Plague’s debut novel, boring boring boring boring boring boring boring, is an enchanting, garbage-juice mishmash of art-scene characters, absurdist storylines, Megan Jasper-esque slang, hyperactive typography, and gorgeous imagery aplenty. The multimedia work — which is also available on a music/audiobook CD, as a poster series, and online — favors style over substance, but that's appropriate given its satire of 19-year-old punks, preps, and "art terrorists." Tonight's release party celebrates the launch of both boring boring boring ... and James Kennedy's The Order of Odd-Fish. The Jonathan Messinger-hosted spectacle also features impromptu scene reenactments by improv team Bella and performances by the one-off Art School Band outfit and Brilliant Pebbles.
