Canadian supergroup Broken Social Scene features an ever-rotating collective of musicians, many hand-plucked (former member Feist, anyone?) from Toronto's indie-rock underground. Part rock band, part orchestra, the group favors swelling, baroque pop songs with frenetic orchestrations featuring brass and woodwinds. This time around, the ensemble (whittled down to a modest seven for tonight's concert) performs songs from cofounder Brendan Canning's debut solo album, Something For All of Us..., the second in a series of BSS members' solo albums. Brooklyn's Yeasayer open, dropping psychedelic rock studded with handclaps, choral harmonies, and steel drums.
