Film Eight Miles High

German model/actress Uschi Obermaier could have been dismissed as a classic '60s groupie — running away from her Bavarian parents to sleep her way through scene after scene  — except that she always did exactly what (and whom) she pleased. Starting with the radical, chic group Kommune 1, she quickly moved on to the likes of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, before ditching them in order to travel around the world in a shiny bus. In a biopic based on Uschi's life, actress Natalia Avelon captures her Brigitte Bardot glamor, as well as her legendary independence, with a ferocity that saves Eight Miles High from devolving into high-end porn.
