With a name like Hamlet 2, a movie is bound to be either the worst piffle to be hurled down the cinematic pike, or pure genius in an idiot-savant sort of way. Happily, this story of possibly the most overblown high-school production of all time lands squarely in the second category — it's one of the best US comedies of 2008. Steve Coogan, who, like many Brits before him, has proved his willingness to prostrate himself at the comedy altar, stars as a failed actor turned failed Arizona drama teacher prone to caftans, roller skates, and mortifying his students and braying wife (Catherine Keener).
