Lloyd Dangle, Troubletown Told You So: Comics that Could've Saved Us from this Mess
Friday Aug 29, 2008 (7–9pm)
Quimby's Bookstore

Cartoonist and political satirist Lloyd Dangle hits Quimby's tonight with a mouthful of left-leaning sarcasm and an armful of slides from his newest comic collection, Troubletown Told You So: Comics that Could've Saved Us from this Mess. Dangle's 20-year-old, nationally syndicated comic strip, Troubletown, chronicles the humorous inefficacy of American politics, and has spent the last eight years mocking President Bush. Dangle began his career at Michael Moore's muckraking paper, the Michigan Voice, and was the first cartoonist to cover the Republican National Convention. His illustrations currently grace the packaging of Airborne cold medicine, and his work has appeared in Entertainment Weekly, the New York Times, and TIME Magazine.
