A theme and one required element are announced on Friday at 10pm, then it's off to the races. Various awards are on the line, and the leading short goes on to represent Chicago against 16 other cities in a battle for cash, prizes, and glory. Even if your film is more monstrous than masterful, you can still have your moment in the limelight: all contenders are screened at the Landmark Century on August 13.
