The late David Foster Wallace demonstrated that the structure and ambition of the novel are limited only by the author's imagination. Similarly, a long-form improvisational show need not be yet another exercise in "three scenes, a game, repeat." The improv experiment HERO, for example, draws inspiration from the heroic mythology of Joseph Campbell in tracing a new legendary journey with every show. With a seasoned cast of veteran improvisers under the sure-handed direction of Schadenfreude's Sandy Marshall, someone's bound to save the day.
