The fourth night of The Wire's Adventures in Modern Music series spotlights three solo acts and one duo, each with an exquisite sense of sonic architecture. Fin Lau Nau pens the most delicate, gauzy singer/songwriter music you can imagine; she reportedly recorded Nuukkuu while her newborn napped. Queens instrumental duo Blues Control twist psychedelia and Krautrock into a surprisingly fizzy tonic, while Tokyo tunesmith Shugo Tokumaru picks over Brian Wilson's bittersweet melodies for inspiration. LA-based producer Flying Lotus landed on Warp just in time to release Los Angeles, a psychedelic sprawl of glitchy hip-hop and a stunning new vision of the kind of spiritual music practiced by his great aunt Alice Coltrane.
