Rick Shapiro built his reputation in New York as an underground comedian with an unstable streak. After working his way through multiple managers and drifting in and out of rehab and psychiatric wards, Shapiro's now frequently billed as "dangerous". And that could well be true: his stream-of-consciousness set is aggressive, crude and verging on manic. His delivery is so fast the audience never gets the chance to decide whether they should laugh or cry, be insulted or disgusted. Still, as dark as Shapiro's humor is, it's impossible to drag yourself away.
