For more than 25 years now, Jason Pierce (aka J. Spaceman) has been making mind-altering, drug-inspired music, replete with trance-inducing chants and droning guitars. Originally a member of the legendary Spacemen 3 (motto: "taking drugs to make music to take drugs to"), Pierce formed Spiritualized in 1990. He has since gutted the lineup a few times, but remains at the center of a pseudo-religious band with a cult-like following. Although Spiritualized are known for making epic records full of sweeping anthems, expect something slightly toned-down tonight. The last tour was unplugged, but still included a string section and gospel singers.
