Collaborative artists Robert Davis and Michael Langlois reconfigure their LA show of the same name for a three-month stint in the Second City. They display a small number of related paintings that attempt to transform the mundane and lowbrow into whimsical, arresting images full of historical and pop-culture iconography. House of the Rising Sun is the result of an artistic dialogue between the pair on how the human figure morphs under physical and psychological stress; the two met at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago over ten years ago, and have been working together on painting, sculpture, and large-scale installations ever since.
