Although the primary descriptor of choreographer Margi Cole's dances is "soft," the pulled-taffy threads of movement that criss-cross dancers' space create a web of satisfying-yet-relaxed complexity. Cole, an MVP of Columbia College's Dance Center faculty, spent much of last year sidelined due to injury, surgery, and recovery, and so goes into her company's spring concert with even greater focus. Fellow choreographer Liz Burritt made a solo dedicated to Cole's "inner superhero" to celebrate her return to the stage, which is presented alongside Colleen Halloran's Wise Women Don't Love and Cole's featured new work, 13, named for the years her ensemble has been active.
