Daily (11am–5pm)
Chicago artist Christa Donner explores human and animal reproductive systems at threewalls' first SOLO exhibition of 2009. Donner employs drawing, animation, zine art, and wall installation to create Re:Production, a project that toys creatively with our anxieties and preconceptions about pregnancy, femininity, and childbirth. Re:Production considers the experiences of a diverse group of women, while playfully examining alternative (and often mythical) biological phenomena — such as fetuses within fetuses — and the reproductive behaviors of species such as the Surinam Toad, the Peach Aphid, and the Mollusk Crepidula.
