Through his novels, short stories, and screenplays, Sherman Alexie has become adept at telling tales of hardship balanced with just the right hint of humor. His stories bring readers deep into lives of Native Americans with the accuracy of a reporter, the imagination of a poet, and — at times — the sarcasm of a standup. Already a veteran on the discussion circuit, Alexie brings his charisma to Chicago when he sits down with WFMT's Victoria Lautman to discuss his new book of short stories, War Dances, as part of the Writers on Record series.
