We all know city life doesn't have to mean swimming a sea of concrete, braving traffic, and fighting off urban alienation, but are you yourself doing anything to make it better? Actions: What You Can Do With the City, a touring exhibit now at the Graham Foundation, presents 99 clever ways to revamp urban living and prompt positive change on your home turf. Projects include guerrilla civic improvements, car-shaped tents for covert street-side camping, and colonizing traffic islands with tomato plants. There are more playful interventions, too (one involves horse costumes). The best part is, it's not just theoretical: all of the actions have been pulled off before in cities ranging from Toronto to Tokyo.
