After modestly entitling an early album Just Another Band from East L.A., Los Lobos have grown into so much more. Founded 30 years ago, long before the rock en espanol trend they augured, Los Lobos broke through with a #1 hit cover of Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba" and set critics abuzz with their masterpiece, the 1992 Mitchell Froom-produced LP Kiko. Three Grammys later, they're respected elder statesmen who still rock. As Rolling Stone magazine put it, "With the exception of U2, no other band has stayed on top of its game as long as Los Lobos."
