The performances shine in this incredible, consistently hysterical production from Court Theatre. Two actors at the top of their game — Chris Sullivan and Erik Hellman, who will surely get a Jeff for this — play werewolves, vampires, and a saucy maid, among others, in this penny-dreadful farce, cross-dressing and quick-changing while making use of an amazing range of dialects and accents. The absurd plot includes Egyptology and literary references from Hamlet to Wuthering Heights among bawdy sex jokes that are actually funny. Director Sean Graney (The Hypocrites) combines camp and actual suspense with impeccable control.
